A subdomain is a helpful tool for organizing different functions of your website, making it easier for users to locate specific sections. Imagine it like hosting a party: you give guests your address, where the TLD represents your city, and the SLD is your street and number. If you live in an apartment building, you need to specify your apartment number so guests know exactly where to go. This apartment number is similar to a subdomain—a distinct part of the larger building dedicated to your space.

When adding features to your website, such as a store, forum, or blog, using subdomains can neatly separate these sections from the main site. Subdomains are also useful for creating localized content. For example, a restaurant chain with multiple locations could use the main domain for general information, while specific locations like a Nashville branch could have a subdomain like nashville.myrestaurant.com for localized details.
